Course Overview Welcome to the Basics of Robotics Summer Camp! This engaging and hands-on course is designed for students aged 10-16 who are excited to delve into the world of robotics. Over the course of the camp, participants will learn the foundational concepts of robotics and gain practical experience in designing, building, and programming their own robots. Topics Covered Basics of Electronics: Introduction to electrical components and circuits Understanding voltage, current, and resistance Hands-on activities with breadboards, resistors, capacitors, and LEDs Sensors: Overview of various types of sensors (e.g., ultrasonic, infrared, touch) How sensors work and their applications in robotics Integrating sensors into robotic projects Actuators: Understanding motors and servos How actuators convert electrical energy into motion Practical exercises to control actuators in robotic systems How to Design a Robot: Basic principles of robot design Structural considerations and material selection Designing and building a robot chassis 3D Printing: Introduction to 3D printing technology Basics of 3D modeling software Printing custom parts for robotic projects Programming: Fundamentals of programming languages used in robotics (e.g., Python, Arduino, MIT Scratch!) Writing and debugging code for robot control Programming for sensor input and actuator output Fun Competition Games To put your skills to the test and have fun, the camp includes various exciting competitions: Maze Solving: Program your robot to navigate through a maze autonomously. Line Following: Build and code a robot that can follow a line track accurately. Obstacle Avoidance: Develop a robot capable of detecting and avoiding obstacles. Robotic Fight: Engage in friendly robot battles, testing durability and control. Robotic Soccer: Design and program robots to play soccer in a mini-arena. Learning Outcomes By the end of the camp, participants will: Have a solid understanding of the basics of electronics, sensors, and actuators. Be able to design and build simple robotic structures. Gain proficiency in programming robots for various tasks. Apply their knowledge in fun and competitive scenarios, enhancing their problem-solving and teamwork skills.


Cancellation Policy

Course Registration Eligibility: Open to students all aged but most suitable for 7-14 years old. Prior experience in robotics or programming is not required. Registration Process: Complete the online registration form available on our website. Submit the form along with the full payment of the course fee. Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of the full payment. Minimum and Maximum Attendance: Each course session requires a minimum of 10 students to proceed. The maximum capacity for each session is 20 students. Course Cancellation and Refund Policy: If the minimum number of 10 students is not met prior to the start date, the course will be canceled. In the event of a course cancellation due to insufficient enrollment, all fees paid will be fully refunded. Once the course has been confirmed (minimum attendance met), cancellations by the participant are not permitted later than one week prior to the course start date. Cancellations made by participants more than one week before the start date will receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within one week of the course start date, except in cases of verified emergencies, which will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Notification: Participants will be notified of course confirmation or cancellation via email prior to the course start date. It is the participant’s responsibility to check their email and ensure that our communications are not missed or sent to spam/junk folders. Attendance: Participants are expected to attend all scheduled sessions of the course. No refunds or make-up classes will be provided for missed sessions. Conduct: Participants are required to adhere to the camp's code of conduct, which promotes a safe and respectful learning environment. The camp reserves the right to dismiss any participant who fails to comply with the code of conduct. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
